To make treatment easier and safer, burosumab will soon be available in a Pre-Filled Syringe (PFS) across the UK, for adult and children patients. The move to pre-filled syringes needs to happen in a careful and responsible way, because the existing stock of vial-based burosumab must be used first to avoid waste. It may also take time for hospitals and pharmacies to organise the new prescription and individual training from an Alcura nurse will be required. Because of these factors, not everyone will receive pre-filled syringes straight away.
